2021 Beginner’s Guide for Succeeding on Medium
In January, my friend Johanna Da Costa came to visit me in Lisbon, my first stop as a new digital nomad. As we were sitting at the terrace of a café sipping our beer while watching the sunset, I introduced her to Medium.
If I’m writing these few words from Costa Rica, it’s partly thanks to Medium. Without this incredible platform, my freelance income might not have been enough to make my dream of being a full-time traveler come true.
Johanna is talented at writing. As she lost her job as a tour guide because of the pandemic, I thought that Medium could help her in this transitional period, while being perfectly suited to her personality and creativity.
While explaining to her the tips and tricks to “succeed” here on Medium, I realized that there was a lot to be said. I’ve been writing here for almost a year and a half, and the 284 articles I’ve published so far have taught me tons of tips and tricks to improve my writing quality, find the subjects I wanted to write about, build a lasting routine and earn a (very) good paycheck every month.
I’m not one of Medium’s rockstars. But I’m proud to have gathered a following of nearly 4,000 readers, to thrive in what I do every day…
